The ‘torn jeans’ trend emerged during the punk culture of the 1970’s. They represented rebellion: Punk Rockers tore apart all sorts of consumer goods as an expression of their anger towards society, and denim became an important part of this political statement. Whats so bizarre is that 40 years latter, you can pay more for a pair of torn jeans than for a new pair. Well maybe sPunk should be the new Punk!
